Play Day: Photopolymer Printmaking (12th Feb 2017)

Seven members from the Saturday Printmakers joined together, for our second ‘play day’ for 2017, experimenting and learning about  the technique of photopolymer printmaking. Group leader, Ute ran the session and demonstrated the technique required to produce relief, intaglio and embossed prints through the use of a photopolymer plate.

Participants learned how to appropriately prepare and expose their plate to sunlight. Making good use of our current heat wave! Many producing test plates first to ensure the exposure times were correct. The ‘play day’ provided an opportunity for members who had completed the Dianne Longley photopolymer printmaking workshop in 2016 to revise and develop their skills further. For those interested, Dianne’s workshop ‘Introduction to Photopolymer’ is scheduled to run again in September 2017. Additional information will be released later in the year.
