Collagraph workshop with Jocelyn Girle

The Saturday Printmakers held their first workshop for the year in February. Under the tutelage of Jocelyn Girle the printmaking method of ‘collagraphs’ were explored, with participants experimenting with various collage elements to create one-off prints. Jocelyn shared strategies for creating various tones or textures, by examining the types and positioning of materials and how these may affect the inking process. Experimentation continued during the inking phase with several participants ‘spritzing’ their designs and collagraph plates with water to create blended hues. Participants also discussed how this creative form could be incorporated into other existing art practices, such as artist books, which they are currently pursuing.Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (4 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (3 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (5 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (2 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (6 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (9 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (12 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (11 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (7 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (8 of 13)Collagraph Workshop 14th & 15th feb 2015 (10 of 13)
